‘Australia is drowning in debt’: Peta Credlin calls out Labor over corporate handouts

Sky News host Peta Credlin has slammed the Albanese government for their corporate handouts while “Australia is drowning in debt”.

In March, the Albanese government gave $840 for a rare earth mineral mine and refinery in the Northern Territory and $230 million for a lithium project in Western Australia.

In April, there was $400 million for an alumina processing company in Queensland and $185 million for a graphite project in South Australia.

“This is all borrowed money, given Australia is drowning in debt,” Ms Credlin said.

“It’s money you work hard to hand over in taxes, and, as Kerry Packer famously said in a parliamentary hearing, it’s not as if the government spends it wisely, is it?”
