Government investigates Optus over fatal triple zero outage | 7NEWS

The Federal Government has launched a formal investigation into Optus following a 13-hour triple zero outage that prevented approximately 600 emergency calls and has been linked to three deaths. The communications authority will examine how and why the failure occurred, as well as Optus’ delayed and inadequate response to emergency services and the public. This marks the second triple zero failure by Optus in two years, raising questions about whether parent company Singtel has invested sufficiently in the network’s reliability.
