EU to explore Australian critical minerals projects, say EU Trade Commissioner
As the EU and the US are in the middle of trade talks, EU trade commissioner Maros Sefcovoc sits down with ABC’s global affairs editor Laura Tingle to discuss how Australia-EU trade talks are progressing, including the free trade agreement and possible European investment in critical minerals. He anticipates an Australia-EU deal could be done by the northern hemisphere’s spring. They also talk about steel surpluses flooding the market and how the EU is implementing safeguards, with calls for the creation of a steel union or something similar to help protect the industry.
